Rx EDGE and Medicine Shoppe International Sign Pharmacy Promotion Agreement

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL, December 15, 2006 – Rx EDGE, a leading provider of pharmacy-based marketing and promotion solutions, today announced that Medicine Shoppe International, the largest franchisor of independent pharmacies in the US, has agreed to install Rx EDGE consumer pharmaceutical marketing materials in participating pharmacies nationwide. Rx EDGE promotes pharmaceutical brands with product and disease information located in aisle shelf dispensers and counter displays.

“We are very pleased that Medicine Shoppe International franchisees who operate The Medicine Shoppe and Medicap Pharmacy stores are joining the Rx EDGE national pharmacy network and will be providing balanced, credible information about prescription drugs to customers,” said Gary Norman, executive vice president and business director of Rx EDGE.

Norman added that the agreement with Medicine Shoppe International will bring the Rx EDGE pharmacy network to nearly 19,000 locations nationwide. “Today we reach consumers through retail pharmacies that account for one third of US prescription volume,” said Norman. “The drug store has a unique advantage for educating consumers because a pharmacist is on hand to answer questions. According to consumer studies, 60 percent of drug-store customers ask for a pharmacist’s advice about new medications.”
